Dentistry
Maintaining your pet’s dental health is an essential part of their overall well-being. While brushing your pet’s teeth daily is the best preventive measure, we understand that it can be challenging to keep up with consistently. That’s why we follow the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) guidelines, which recommend annual professional dental cleanings starting at age 2. Research shows that by the time pets reach age 3, around 70-80% of cats and dogs show signs of periodontal disease.
As periodontal disease progresses, it can cause symptoms such as foul breath, bone deterioration, stained teeth, inflamed gums, abscesses, and pain. Many pets are skilled at masking discomfort, so you might not notice visible signs until the disease becomes advanced—such as drooling, blood or pus from the mouth, or difficulty eating. Moreover, dental disease can affect overall health by allowing bacteria to enter the bloodstream, potentially harming organs like the liver and kidneys that are responsible for filtering the blood.
Annual professional cleanings are one of the best ways to reduce the risk of oral pain, infections, and tooth loss.
Cleaning Service
The dental cleaning is $299 and it includes the procedure, anesthesia, and pre-anesthetic blood work. Routine/simple extractions are $15 per tooth, and capped at $75. Surgical extraction (cut, drain, suture) is starting $125 per tooth, however, that is something we wouldn't be able to confirm until the dog / cat is under anesthesia and a thorough exam of the mouth has been completed. In the case that they come across a bad tooth like this, then the surgical tech will give you a call to inform you before the vet proceeds with the extraction. *Pre-dental exam fee is additional $45, and is required for all new patients or existing patients who have not seen our vet within the past month. This is done the same day as the dental.
